Role:
As a Systems Engineer I for Chef Automation and Linux, you will:
Discover and implement new technologies that improve functionality, availability, cost efficiency, and security for Tesco’s Infrastructure Platforms.
Collaborate with other teams across all of Tesco Technology and vendors to ensure service and project delivery.
Drive Service Improvements with operations engineering and bring operational excellence.
Define & implement simple management summary from complex technical topics and drive logical decisions at all levels within Tesco.
Contribute in other automation initiatives.
Technology Skills:
I should have hands-on experience in Strong understanding of Chef and cookbooks development, Chef Policies. Chef Inspec & Chef Automate.
Very good understanding of Linux Fundamentals and Internals.
Basic understanding of Windows Operating systems.
Programming knowledge in Shell, ruby & should have worked on automating daily tasks.
Familiarity with system security implementation.
Familiarity with enterprise monitoring systems, ticketing & Change Management systems.
Strong written and verbal communications along with strong technical documentation skills.
Additional Technical skills:
Hands-on knowledge of Jenkins, GIT, GIT Action, Packer
Basic understanding of Virtualization platform like VMWare, Azure would be added advantage.

Self-motivated. Ability to learn new technologies on own.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently
Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to participate and contribute during crisis times, assist team, members/leads, as needed Show adaptability and flexibility in work to suit business requirements.

Qualifications:
Graduation/Post Graduation.
Minimum 3-6 years of technology experience
Experience with ITIL Processes of Incidents, Problem and Change Management
Following certifications are a huge plus
o Chef
o ITIL v3 Foundation
